Jane in the Garden
She sits
in between the garden rows
blowing dandelion seeds
toward the cucumbers I just
replanted
She scrubs
black soil into fingers, feet
wiping more dirt
across her smiling mud masked
face
She steals
my heart at sunset
chasing fireflies in freshly mowed grass
laughing like wind in maple
leaves

confusing amusing
amusing choice
your sad voice still lingers
as your plane begins to fly
you said, you loved me
but I, just don't feel the same
you knew my heart, still broken
though you smile at me that way
allow me to heal awhile
don't turn away, afraid
San Francisco lent me his heart
the radio, never did play my favorite song
and now you're gone
life is a dance, or so I'm told
But I have two left feet
your sad voice still lingers
as your plane begins to fly
you said, you loved me
but I, just don't feel the same
you knew my heart, still broken
though you smile at me that way
allow me to heal awhile
don't turn away, afraid
San Francisco lent me his heart
the radio, never did play my favorite song
and now you're gone
life is a dance, or so I'm told
But I have two left feet
